Mission

We Are Rescue is an alliance of volunteers with a multitude of skills, expertise, training, certifications, experience, and assets that is active during declared States of Emergency or disaster situations to provide immediate full-spectrum emergency disaster response, rescue, relief, and recovery operations directly to and for the benefit of the citizens, animals, and communities impacted by various incidents, disasters, or crisis situations. Our team has experience in immediate response along with long-term recovery. At We Are Rescue, we prioritize responding to rural areas, elderly communities, and domestic violence centers. We also assist families in finding resources and support for members with specific, individualized needs.

They typically begin with search and rescue (SAR) efforts, where teams work to identify and locate individuals in distress, often using drones, dogs, and ground teams. Once located, these individuals are safely extracted using methods such as helicopter airlifts, boat rescues, or ground evacuations. Coordination is crucial, with emergency operation centers being established to manage and communicate with rescue teams, while multiple agencies, including local, state, and federal authorities, collaborate with non-governmental organizations and international aid.

Following a disaster, the immediate response focuses on quickly assessing and addressing the community’s urgent needs. Search and rescue teams are deployed to locate and assist those in distress, while emergency operation centers coordinate efforts among various agencies. Key priorities include providing medical care, setting up temporary shelters, and determining the needs for food and water. Assessments are conducted to determine the extent of damage, including downed trees, blocked roads, and damaged infrastructure, which are critical to restoring basic services and ensuring public safety. Community involvement is encouraged, with local volunteers helping in relief efforts and public information campaigns keeping everyone informed about available resources and safety measures. This comprehensive approach ensures that the most pressing needs are met promptly, helping the community begin the recovery process.

Relief efforts following a disaster involve bringing in essential supplies, setting up distribution centers, and organizing the provision of hot meals. This includes planning and distributing food, water, and other necessities to affected individuals. Additionally, efforts are made to connect those in the disaster area with resources such as medical care, shelter, and psychological support, ensuring that immediate needs are met efficiently and effectively.

Recovery efforts following a disaster also include helping with rebuilding, providing resources, and organizing cleanup operations. This involves repairing damaged infrastructure, distributing building materials, and coordinating volunteer efforts to remove debris and restore the affected area. Ensuring access to these resources and support systems is crucial for the community’s recovery and return to normalcy.
